When was the last time you felt passionate about a project you worked on? Is that even something that matters to you? I know we can't always afford to "care" about our work when we're just trying to get by, but it'd be nice to work on something I believe in every now and then.

One of my senior managers is a boomerang and told me she was laid off when she was 7 months pregnant about 10 years ago. I think she was a senior or manager. She was in a specific group and everybody was laid off. It wasn’t performance based.

I read this super interesting article about how big companies like Toyota are investing in social-emotional training for their employees and seeing massive benefits. I actually think this could be a whole separate class for students of all ages. Learning about conflict resolution, growing your own self-regulation skills...it's really important.
