2k difference is not much. Go for the brand
2k plus the difference between HCOL and LCOL. Just comparing state taxes between NY and TX as an example, that’s ~67k vs 72k.
Add on the drastic COL differences and these two offers are night and day
Learn from my mistake and negotiate your Deloitte starting salary to at least 5k more. My coach, senior managers, partners I’ve talked to, have all said that unfortunately your subsequent raises all have to do with how much you came into the firm with. I didn’t negotiate been here for three years and I’m a first year consultant at 76200 I’m screwed
Well yeah, raises are all percentage based
You don’t have leverage at an entry level position
You may. I got an extra 5k for moving expenses because I asked for it.
Advisory Analyst or Advisory Consultant? Seems about right tbh, they don’t get paid as well as DC typically, even within Cybersec
Advisory is not the place to make good money at Deloitte unfortunately.
This is insane. My starting offer for Advisory entry level consultant in 2011 was $75k in SF.
PwC because it was 8 years after mine and things are more expensive today.
I was offered 70k at Deloitte NY and 72 at GT in a LCOL
Seems low try to negotiate more. I’m in NY office btw
Back in 2011 Advisory didn’t have an Analyst position though, this was their way of lowering the pay band even though the requirements for an Analyst now is a Masters vs just a Bachelors for a C level back then.
Is this a good email to send to counter an offer? Also do I email the partner who called me about offer or recruiter ? See below:
I wanted to reach out to express my appreciation towards being given an opportunity to work at an inclusive firm that values it’s people.
I have reviewed the details of my offer. However, I have been given a higher offer in a middle level cost of living area. Given that New York has a higher cost of living, I would like to request a $5000 increase to the base salary listed in my offer as well as relocation assistance.
Even if they accept your negotiation, do not work for Deloitte in NY for only 75k. You will be miserable, will not be able to save much money, and salary growth at Deloitte is very slow. Think about 75k after Federal and NY income tax. Deloitte’s benefit contribution requirements are also expensive if you want good insurance. That will be like 4K per month after tax which is not nearly enough to live a good life in NY and save at the same time.
I got 68K as a entry level consultant non-big 4 in nyc 🙃 my Deloitte offer was 70k I believe
If someone wants to recruit me hmu haha
Want referral to EY finance transformation?
I got 61k in DC
I made the same mistake. My advice is you accept the offer if that’s the best at hand, but keep looking elsewhere.
I got 75k + 10k signing bonus - NYC
Yes that’s what I got. Campus hire to the NYC office
In my experience Deloitte has always offered less for college grad but if you perform excellent in first year they do market adjustment sometimes even 10 to 15% on base so that’s that.
Very reasonable my start at Deloitte advisory last year was 70k
