Do managers just expect you to be okay with them “telling” you to join their project. Like what if it’s not the work I want to do and I have other options available?

Does every firm have this FIRM INITIATIVES or its just unique to Deloitte? With this whole work from home situation, spending way more time on client work and don't think the firm initiatives I do generate sufficient impact. I would rather do something that is impact ful and something I believe in rather than have that as a evaluation criteria for year end.

Going through interviews and struggling a lot with social anxiety and feeling awkward. In final rounds at a company where the next interview will be strongly focused on understanding personality and fit. Doing great on content but really can’t connect with people, especially over Zoom. Being a strong introvert doesn’t help either. Any recommendations on things you would do to connect beyond job related Q&A? Also, any tips to control nerves during the interview?
I think PGA/LPGA camera operators are very under appreciated. I mean, the skill it takes to spot, zoom in, and track a tiny golf ball flying through the air at 150+mph over and over and from multiple angles is incredible. I literally can’t follow my own golf ball leaving my club much less someone else’s with a camera mounted on my shoulder.
At the beginning of Covid-19, my sister was on a cruise. Her job was to teach bridge and cribbage to other passengers to offset the cost. She said, “While we were waiting to see if we had a port, I would see my kids playing independently. It brought me joy.” It made me happy to hear that sense of wonder that is teaching and learning.
