Many of us are blessed to be off today. How will you care for yourself today?

Make a plan to do at least 1 thing for you! What will it be?

I am finishing up a great book. It has been a wonderful read, and I am thankful to have this free morning to tackle the last few chapters.

What about you?

I started the day making coffee flavored coffee cake! Can’t wait to try it!

Thanks! It was pretty good!

I worked out this morning and am planning on binge watching Bridgerton.

My wife really liked that show!

I hope your workout brought peace, relaxation or, as the kids say, the “mad gains”... 🤣

My husband and I took our dog to the beach.

Ah, the beach. If I lived near one, I would be there daily!

Pretty cheesed my colleague “took” my account

I’m on the sales side, was working a pretty big acc, pitched them, talked to the literal owner of the chain

After following up with him, his secretary very sternly said “if he’s interested he’ll reach out 😡” so I said damn okay, I’ll try again next month I guess

Fast forward to a few days ago, and my colleague literally sends *one* email…. ONE….and he goes “sign me up!” So she got the account

She was fully within rules of engagement

Can anyone tell me who Google’s health insurers are in Washington state, and what the copays/deductible/etc are? And percentage the company pays?

AE back to BDR??

With so many layoffs taking place. Would love to know the community’s thoughts on this move. I have 1.5 yrs closing experience, but seems that many roles I’m still unqualified for. Was laid off as company was downsizing. I’ve been a top performer at both companies I’ve been at as well. And was the fastest promoted SDR in company history.

Is anyone else considering moving back to BDR?

Does Infosys provide shift allowance and if yes then how much ?

Walking on my walking pad while working, with my desk fan on so I don’t sweat while my seasonal depression lamp is glowing on my face and listening to TSwift new album. Not a bad Monday.

KPMG Recruiters are the most unprofessional of the Big Four.

Change my mind.

Starting a new remote job where I'm offered $1k reimbursement for purchases towards my home office. I know this is a fairly common perk so I was wondering what everyone here has used that money towards. $1k could afford a couple great monitors or a pretty nice desk. What have you guys upgraded/bought?

I’m on bench and looking for job outside MT due to lack of good project and good hike.

How many of you are serving notice period and how many of you are on bench?

It would be great if you share the reason also.

AWS-SAA question (newbie): I know AWS account is a root account & by default gives user access/permissions to all the AWS services. You need to have an aws account first to then create IAM users to define who they are, permission groups they’re in, and the level of access/permissions they have to a bucket/object for example. So....when the IAM users are added, do they receive a notification with the url to access the environment? Do they need an aws account as well? Confused on difference

How do you plan to care for yourself this week?

It’s hard not to take work home with us but we can’t, not even papers to grade. Give yourself a rest at home!

I need some advise. 2 years ago( when I turned 33) I realized my energy level is going down at a faster rate everyday then I have ever experienced. I had my doctor do yearly different tests and everything is normal. I try to work out at least 2 times a week and take vitamins D and B12. I am getting fatigue and feeling weak, unable to accomplish my tasks sometimes (not depressed). I am losing the sense of consistency. Anything anybody would recommend to do or take?

Yoga nidra is my new favorite self care. I sleep deeper, and it doesn't deplete my precious energy. No side effects or injuries, either.

I love Mindful Movement on YouTube, and she has a yoga nidra vid. Audible also has some, I love Dare to Rest by Karen Brody, and the free one Practical Yoga Nidra by Scott Moore is good too.

A little gratitude goes a long way. Thanking someone is a great way to start growing gratitude in your daily life. Ask yourself:

If I had one thank you card to give to any staff member, who would I give it to, and why?

Then, thank that person. Tell them why. Watch their face light up!

You’ll feel your’s get a little brighter also.

Art is a cathartic process for me. It has been a decade or more since I have used charcoal to create. When my students requested it as a unit this quarter, I was mildly excited.

After a few quick sketches, my excitement has grown.

I work in a public school setting and am allergic to citrus. My district has stated that it is too much trouble to accommodate me. I carry an Epipen and have an anaphylaxis reaction to being exposed to citrus. My district is not accepting my doctor note. They think I am exaggerating and refuse to limit citrus fruits on my campus. An HR meeting concluded that I was required to work through it/use the emergency response team if I have “an issue”. Pls share if you have had a different experience

Life as a teacher is difficult. It is stressful as a those in the medical and law enforcement profession.

These are simple facts that people don't get about what we do.

After 2 years asking for a change in my position, today I was told once again that my request would not be honored. I know the best answer is to apply elsewhere. Knowing that it is late in the hiring process and many districts around me have initiated hiring freezes, please give me the best advice on how to look forward to next year:

I just had a tough day any self care tips.

I dare you, no wait. I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU, to schedule a mental health day, eat at your favorite restaurant, then take a nap!

No grading, no planning, no school email.

Just time for you.

Tonight is hard because tomorrow I will be attending a funeral for a former student. He died by suicide.

5 years ago I read him Magic Treehouse books.

I remember how excited he was to meet his behavior goal for the first time.

I was hoping to see him in 2 years at the HS.
