How many of you have experienced or know of any teachers who have gotten the Coronavirus at work?

In my 7-12 building, we have had 12 teachers get COVID-19. We have been face-to-face since August. That is roughly 1/3 of our teaching staff.

We have been face to face since August. We have about 500 on staff, split between about a dozen buildings. I know of roughly 20 teachers (there are others I don’t know personally) who have had Covid. Of those 20, each has traced exposure to outside the classroom. Church, a family birthday party, club sports, a spouse... etc. This info is first hand from the teachers. So, while I don’t doubt it is happening, I cannot say I personally know of any staff catching Covid at school.

2 to at school exposure... but it was from other teachers at school and they didn’t wear masks when they had meetings or ate lunch. Funny thing is they are still acting the same way.

I’ve had COVID but I didn’t contract it from school.

It's my one year COVIDversary. I thought I'd die. I don't know where I got it

HR professionals- are you requiring a negative test before any employees return to work after COVID? Some had very mild symptoms and one was asymptomatic. I’ve read not to push for a Dr.’s note and some people can still be positive yet not contagious. Right now I’m following the cdc guidelines of 10 days from first symptom, fever free for 24 hrs and improvement of symptoms.

I work 8+ hour shifts in the office as we are an essential business where masks are required at all times. Has anyone else had the experience of wearing a good mask at work and getting excruciating headaches at work that last for a few hours after work? I've already had an isolation period so it's not Covid, but I'm thinking it might be the higher levels of carbon monoxide, as I've tried wearing a different mask and did not have the same problem.

I created the biggest rift I’ve ever had in my family when I left mid-covid for my first industry job, moved to a new city, started dating what I thought was the love of my life… only to come full circle. I am overwhelmed with the current state of affairs over the last six mos and six weeks. From COVID and making sure my team feels ‘ok’, to the elevation of BLM due to the long overlooked atrocities, my building my destroyed by riots and looters and then boarded up, LGBTQ focusing on the negative history instead of the pride that I so dearly love, Brands pulling out of FB (when hate is so clearly more pervasive than just on FB)...I don’t want anything swept under the rug - I am craving happiness

Back in office and want to lose the covid weight (not much, but I am petite so just feel uncomfortable with the added pounds). Mentioned it to colleagues. Colleague who is in good shape (male) told me a few days ago he could do a program for me, and found a gym close to where we both live for us to go to, Is it weird to go with him? I probably shouldn’t think this but somewhere in my head I am thinking.... do I want to be in gym gear around this guy? Haha
