MBA at Columbia / NYU and find several of my classmates to be shallow. Is that more of an MBA thing or an NYC thing?

NYC for sure, went to a top 5 b school and met the most humble, nerdy, and ambitious folks. Regardless, find the good peeps.

You feel that in the early days. That’s because people are exhausted from introducing themselves to 1000 people…real personalities come later. Most people are interesting and nerdy.

Big sample size lol and it’s nice believe this as well. 👍🏽

Went to Columbia for undergrad and Stanford for my MBA. I think it's an NYC thing. Everyone is so uptight.

Who groups cbs and nyu into same grouping lol

Shallowness is everywhere in top MBA, including all M7 as well

It’s a prestige/school name thing. I went to a T30 and met some of the most genuine people who I’m so lucky to call lifelong friends.

What do you mean by shallow in NYC? Is there a stereotype involved? I’m thinking Wall Street tough guys, ambitious trust fund kids, and fashionistas. Hope to not offend

It’s a people thing.

That doesn’t mean most of your classmates are from NYC

Hello, I was wondering about which companies usually hire for entry level ServiceNow role?

I’m currently doing large scale Oracle ERP implementation and I am having difficulty finding companies that hire entry level roles. I switch fields recently so I only have around 9 months of experience and I find that most ServiceNow position requires 2+year in ServiceNow :/

Background - I recently got the Certified System Administrator for SNow, PMP and CSM

Any insight appreciated, thanks!

What would you choose? MBB (Digital practice) or Amazon PMT?

Background: T15 MBA student, 7YoE as Mech engineer, long term goal is to climb ladder in Tech, married and have a 2year old

Situation: I have a MBB and Amazon PMT offer for summer internship that I need to choose. MBB comes with FT offer, Amazon PMT will most likely result in return offer. If I go with MBB, I plan to exit to big Tech in 2-3 years. Y1 TC for both will be quite similar (around 230k).

Thank you in advance!

Is it misleading to just look at Total Compensation from a $ dollar value/ Total Compensation seems to be much more subjective than base salary in terms of its value. Some factors might be:

RSUs granted on dollar value or by # of shares & stock price trends
Vesting schedule
strike price on ISOs & delta between strike price and real market value

For instance, most of value in Amazon's comp seems to be granted in years 3 & 4, but it's well known that most people last only 2 years max there.
