Best business-oriented, but novel-style books with good writing, style, & interesting characters? Not really self-help/advise focused, more of actual literature with business themes/plots. Any recs?

Feels like books in that niche *business self-help* genre are aimed at insecure overachievers like us. There are 500 and no one got time for that shit. What is a key takeaway from 1 you found helpful?

I’m dealing with severe anxiety about my future. Woke up at 4 this morning and found it difficult to get back to sleep. I’ve talked to a therapist and family, taken medication, and read self-help books, nothing seems to work. I feel as though it’s never going to get better.

"Count blessings/be positive/life is what you make it" peddlers: negative feelings are not chosen, this isn't a flippable switch and self-help comments definitely won't help if all the books haven't.

I’m depressed. Nothing unique about my depression - I’m in big law, my career defines me, when I’m not working I can’t find the will to get off the couch, I’m sad or I’m numb…I know I’m the only one that can make a change to my life…I’m on antidepressants. Just extremely unmotivated and paralyzed. Self-help books are not for me, but I am curious - has anyone tried a guided depression/anxiety journal? Any recommendations if so? Or, if you have experienced the same, what steps did you take?

What's with the saturation of self help/ productivity books on social media (reddit, Instagram etc.) ? Not saying I don't mind reading them, but I see this quite a bit. Know a few people who consciously only read non fiction instead. Just thinking aloud over here. Would like to hear what you guys think ?

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. My therapist just told me I'm depressed..do you ever feel like they tell you things you hear a lot or could have figured out on your own?
