Best business-oriented, but novel-style books with good writing, style, & interesting characters? Not really self-help/advise focused, more of actual literature with business themes/plots. Any recs?

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

What “self help” books are you guys reading? I just read Untamed by Glennon Doyle and wow, I want to start from the beginning again, but feel like I should read something else. Would love any suggestions.

I’m so depressed, have been for years, and don’t see it getting better. I’ve tried everything from therapy, exercise, psychiatry, journaling, self help books, healthy diet, etc. what else is there?

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

What's with the saturation of self help/ productivity books on social media (reddit, Instagram etc.) ? Not saying I don't mind reading them, but I see this quite a bit. Know a few people who consciously only read non fiction instead. Just thinking aloud over here. Would like to hear what you guys think ?

Any suggestions for self help books on anxiety? Been dealing with anxiety for quite some time now and have been seeing a therapist but also just want to see what other resources are out there.

Is it a red flag if someone says they don’t believe in self help books like Atomic Habits, Attached, etc?

Girlfriend has very obvious high functioning anxiety and body image issues that she admits but thinks she doesn’t need therapy or medication and that reading self-help books will help her. Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. This one is for folks on h1b visa. So at time when you have an offer in hand(not accepted the offer yet and h1b transfer process not yet begun) while you are working with your current employer, do you even speak to your employer about your new offer to see if they make a counter offer?
Is there a risk involved with this approach assuming your current employer doesn't provide you with a counter offer and they ask you to leave immediately (and your h1b visa hasn't been transferred either)
