I am a lawyer (based in the UK) and have been practising for 15+ years (financial services/banking). I love being a lawyer but I would also love to do something more creative or more independent. Has anyone moved from law into another role or has anyone done something more creative alongside their full time legal career? I’m feeling a bit stuck!

I applied for a job within my unit that I do not qualify for. Now, I have an interview for this job. Me knowing I do not meet most of the qualifications for this position has my imposter syndrome thinking I shouldn’t even do this interview because it would be a waste of time. Has anyone felt this way?

A patient of mine essentially asked me to fraudulently bill his insurance the other day. My response was records can be audited at anytime which could result in my license being put at risk. He asked me how many times has that happened? I was like that doesn’t matter. I spent way too much time, money and effort to get to where I am.

In Some companies they have fixed budget but sometimes its big Joke.
Ex: if YOE is 5 & CCTC is 7LPA then they have budget of Max 10LPA.
But for same YOE with 4LPA they have change it to 7LPA for same job.
If company have budget and if candidate is talented they should hire them with best market standands. Some companies don't set any salary bar for right candidate.
If person with 3YOE have 5LPA and he have the capabilities to get 15LPA them pay candidate right.

Interviewing for jobs, are there any issues on talking about past deals or clients you’ve had? Currently in MM/Corp. banking. I know many of the big IBD deals are published but not at my level

I am interviewing for an agency and they haven't extended any offers but want me to provide them with all sorts of documents. Is this sus or am I just overtly wary?

I know recruiters ghost all the time - but it feels especially cruel right now. How fucking hard is it to say “we’ve gone in a different direction.” Want to tell one of them off so badly.

I have to fill out a background check form for a position and it asks if I've ever been discharged from a job. Does getting "the talk" --i.e. being told your future isn't at the firm as a senior associate--count as being discharged? Any thoughts are much appreciated!
