It all depends on how you look at it, I’ve worked in call centers for over 20 years and I don’t mind them. You just have to remember what it is that you do. At Spectrum, if that’s your actual role, like a role such as an online retailer like QVC, it’s not brain surgery but it’s needed And you work in the retention area so you’re retaining customers.
If none of this hits you with any passion then use it as a stepping stone just don’t take too long. What I mean by that is get your bachelors as quickly as you can. If you’re getting tuition assistance, that’s great. If not, you may want to look to move to a company that will give you tuition assistance so you don’t have to pay for it. School is expensive and time-consuming. However, once you’re finished with that if you’re looking for a bit of more education, I would look at certificate programs. They take much less time they do cost a little bit more but you get more bang for your buck on your bottom line.
Notice I said your bottom line not the company’s bottom line. In this particular realm you’re in right now you’re not thrilled with it but it’s paying the bills use it just that way.
Hard to make recommendations based on that statement. It’s way too general. Give us some experience and education background please and I take it you’re in the call center correct?
I am in the call center and have worked plenty of labor jobs before and I think I prefer that? It's hard to feel like im making a difference or being effective in call center. Metrics feel made up and the sales incentives are never really incentivizing. There was also a time when I worked just customer service but have been in sales most of my career. I also have my associates and am working towards my bachelors. Any advice is appreciated !
That’s true , I appreciate the advice, Thank you !
