You’re not going to like the answer, but multiple months
More like a year for full growth and health of the nail. It’s a really long time as i recall but, it does grow back.
It could take 3-6+ months. Just be patient. The good news is that it is growing back/you’re seeing improvement already.
The existing nail will continue to grow out as a new nail grows from the base of your nail. Unfortunately it’s just a waiting game.
Neosporin may help accelerate healing but likely not the nail growth. For that you might want to consider a biotin supplement.
I’d also let it breath as much as you can so it can get oxygen to heal - instead of continuously keeping it wrapped in a bandaid.
It’s hard to picture exactly what you’re dealing with based on your description. Damaged/injured nails tend to be frail and prone to falling off. I smashed my fingernail in a door and it bled under the nail, turning the whole nail dark redish purple from the blood under it. It probably took 6 months for the blood (which was at the base of the nail until the end) to fully work its way through and the nail to look normal again. Looked like I painted only one fingernail for the longest time. My nail did not fall off
