This & exactly what you mentioned above.
I don’t like when people reach out to me about other people, unless I think that person is top tier. If I don’t know them it doesn’t help, but doesn’t hurt either.
All I’m getting at is it doesn’t hurt. If the applicant is solid that’s what matters.
Would something like “hey, a friend of mine applied to role X and just went through the first round of interviews, i believe he would be a great addition to the team because XYZ” be okay?
