I’m a digital product designer with some background experience doing very basic coding like JavaScript, but I am definitely not a dev. I ordered a Playdate (play.date) and am looking forward to trying to make a game for it with my daughter. What’s the best place to start learning basic coding for making games? Assume I know nothing. Anybody else excited about the Panic Playdate?

Buy a 3-4 year old business Lenovo 14” notebook. $300 tops, better than anything sub $1k.
Amazon, EBay, used to be a site called ArrowDirect, but no longer exists I think.
If you’re going back to school for an MBA, I’d go with standard PC and windows unless you love apple products. I started my MBA with a Mac and thought it was a big inconvenience. There are some scholastic discounts as well to offset licenses.
There were a few simulations that didn’t work as well and I had to borrow a computer, it also is better to have MS office suite work the same way as your peers- I learned a ton of shortcuts, hot keys and modeling tricks there and it wasn’t as helpful until I switched to a PC.

Asus Zenbook UX333FAC-XS77. Look it up on Amazon, it's less than $1000.

It has all the bells and whistles you'd need (assuming you're a non-gamer) in a laptop including a small form factor for portability. It comes with recent chipset for performance (CPU and RAM) and Windows 10 Pro. You can buy an extra 3 year warranty for less than $150 if you think you'd need it. Overall it's a great laptop and priced very competitively.
