My partner always says "who needs sleep" and "sleep is for the weak". I'm like stfu I love my sleep.
I get 7+ hrs of sleep because I prioritize my health. Others can choose to prioritize differently.
Totally agree. While sleep has become a luxury to some for many it’s a waste of time.
I’m ashamed for not getting enough sleep. It’s the opposite for me, our leadership expects us to take care of ourselves and our well being. Can’t attest for the whole firm but I haven’t ran into one person at BAH who shames you for taking time off for yourself (enough sleep, more sleep, vacation , whatever)
Hustle and grind culture is dumb and annoying, but pedaling that shit is profitable af.
I don’t think there is any shame in sleep! We have a baby and toddler and these days go to bed at nine pm
Also the amount of new emails in the inbox. 🙄
Not sure it’s a badge of honour. Despite having 2 kids, I’ve been sleeping 6 hours/night since college. I’m used to it.
I think it’s envy. I’m super jealous of anyone that can balance their life so well.
Shameless nine to ten hours a night here. I used to only need 3-4. Just own it. I love that it sets me apart. Like yeah mofos I get ten hours of sleep, and that’s why my skin looks like a baby’s ass post skin mask and my eyes twinkle like the fucking Milky Way.
I consider it a badge of honor when I do get enough sleep.
People are retarded. Stop listening to them and start listening to Ben Stein read the phonebook. You’ll sleep better.
I sleep 4 to 5h/weekday, and bit more on weekends. But I would not shame anyone. Our bodies are wired differently, most need 8, some can manage with 6, and a small minority need fewer than that (but very high quality). No one ought to shame another for the number of hours they sleep. I say - listen to your body and get the sleep it demands.
We have finally reached the point where capitalism is crushing our souls. It is interesting to think how this pandemic will potentially change how we view work (in the US specifically). I think now is a good time to hope on that "digital transformation" train and see how we can adopt a 3-4 day workweek with less, but more focused, work hours. Am I crazy to think this is possible in our current society?
I’m foretelling D O O M! I smother our shared work from home dreams!
Easier option: go work for a client who does allow WFH
