My job is being 'offshored' (never heard the term before and I hate it!) and I am just a few years from retirement. Looking for tips on what I should and shouldn't include on my resume, LinkedIn. TIA!!

First of all take off any career history that’s older than 20 years and take the dates off your degrees.
Build out the ‘about’ section in LinkedIn and suggest open to opportunities in the text body but do not mark yourself as ‘open to opportunities’ with a green frame
It’s a really, really tough job market at the moment so be prepared to make compromises.
I hope they’ve given you a good payoff?

@Editor1, I don’t use the “open to work“ frame because I want to always appear as a passive job seeker, which generally allows for more leverage at least when the job market is good. Also, I think some perspective employers look at it as disloyalty if you are currently employed and open to work elsewhere, which is insane considering they don’t have a problem letting you go when they’re ready.

I had to redo my resume for the first time in years recently and some things that I have been doing are making sure to focus on highlights and not every single job/responsibility. Whatever actual numbers results can be great to include. ATS optimization, so including keywords and making sure the format is easy to read. It can be a lot of information at once, but it’s not so bad once you start making updates.

I wanna circle back. What does offshore mean? Is that your employer trying to find a nicer way to say layoff or you’re being fired it sounds like it. I’ve just also never heard the term offshore and it sounds crazy to me.

It is a way to reduce cost by giving certain functions to workers in foreign countries who accept much less pay. It’s like when you call your mobile provider’s customer service line and it is obvious that English is the second language and they are reading from the script. usually a lot of tech and call-center work gets shifted.
