My sister is thinking about applying to MBA after 3 years working in a boutique family office wealth management firm. How hard would it be for her to get in M7 these days? Are extracurriculars still very important for MBA? She came from a top 15 school with a pretty strong undergrad GPA. TIA!

ECs: founded social enterprise, journalism (on health, environmental inequities etc) at top pubs, published academic research, 4 yrs volunteering as advisor for social entrepreneurs. Recs good not amazing.

ST career goal = social impact VC; LT = social entrepreneurship.

I regret not applying to Harvard. I never thought I’d get into a top school and then got into wharton with a 100k fellowship - which changed my entire perspective. It sucks thinking “what if…”. I just didn’t have the confidence and thought wharton was a reach so why bother with H/S 🙃 hope this inspires someone to just shoot their shot - you never know
