My small agency was recently acquired by a Big Agency. Now everything I write is wrong, the CD and ECD treat me like a secretary who has to guess what's in their head. Their notes are not up for debate or questioning, I am not allowed to try and build on their ideas or top them. Is this seriously how big agencies work? My old ECD and CD would always at least hear me out on notes or suggestions. Now i just type what I'm told.

Not big vs small. Shitty bosses can happen anywhere

It’s not how big agencies work. Big agencies are different from small ones in that they have more bureaucracy and layers but the trade off is they also have bigger clients and more clients. What you’re describing is people who are maybe jerks or maybe don’t trust you or both. What’s normal in a big agency is that there are bad bosses and good bosses under the same roof, so your experience can vary depending on luck and how well you can play agency politics to get on the right teams/client.

2. How long (time) will it take to get an offer?

My fiancé will NOT stop talking about her ex. After I found out they were texting arguing she justified it by saying it was about the dogs and not them. Even though Her social media is full of his pics. She still sends him $50 a month for dog food, still goes to work right by his place and suspiciously needs keys. I try to bring it up and I get dismantled for being too mean and making “false accusations.” How much more obvious can it be?

I've been exploring exit opportunities for a few months and still holding out for the right opportunity. However, I've had A LOT of recruiters reach out to me for positions that are way below my current salary. They do the whole "your background and expertise is exactly what we're looking for" then turn around and offer a salary range that is 20k below my current level. My resume clearly says I've got 10yrs experience and an MBA. I **don't think* I should be getting offers of 80k-100k

Jumping off a related topic: am I delusional to not care about jr/int/sr level titles? I've been a "copywriter" since the day I started and steadily gained responsibility, autonomy, and money. Happy with career progression, always getting juicier assignments, work directly with ECDs/CCOs... am I missing something crucial? Is my case an anomaly? Or is it okay not to push for a title upgrade?

So, you’ve reached the stage of your career where you care more about cashing a fat paycheck than making “creative ads”. You’d rather have the resources and free time to fulfill your creative itch outside of work than try to sell the next big idea to an 28 year old marketing manager with an annual budget of 150k. How do you make the absolute most money as a copywriter while still working a 9-5? Asking for... a... friend?

I don't know if this is a recent change but I’m seeing postings for junior copywriter/community manager roles. Have these roles always been attached or posted at a junior level? Is this merged role worth considering as someone young in the industry with more traditional intern and freelance copy experience.

Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.

Note to writers: the phrases are “centers/ centered on” and “revolves around.”
You cannot “center around” something.
