Need suggestions fellow QAs
I have 13 yrs of exp into QA - mostly manual but does automation as well.
Looking at the current situation, i am not sure how i can survive long in this industry.
Any suggestions on career paths ?

UK market is open only for niche skillsets ( Data engineer + analytics). Firms aren't interested in sponsoring rest all skill sets, as they can be filled internally. They have limited quota every year, and are very choosy when it comes to allocation. Preference is first given to EU nationals and then Asians during shortlist stage.

Referral works, but the person who is referring you should have enough clout in the organization to present your profile!

How difficult is it to get an onsite job with only 2 years of experience?

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

Tough time getting past final step: I’ve been trying to make a career shift for 10 months now and continue to get rejected at the last step. Im confident in the value I can provide and do well at presenting it. However, once it’s comes down to me and 1-2 other candidates, I repeatedly have been turned down for the person who has more relevant experience as they’re a safer bet for the employer. Would love advice from anyone who’s dealt with this before. It’s tough to get them to take a risk on me

I recently graduated with a masters degree in Data Analytics from University of Texas at San Antonio with a CGPA of 4.0. I am also awarded distinguished graduate student award for great academic standing and leadership skills. I am looking forward to HR round for Macquarie Gurugram. All rounds went well except for numerical reasoning section in psychometric test. My yoe is exactly 8 years. My current CTC is 16.2 and expecting raise in current company in 2-3 months.

Q1- What is the maximum I can demand in Macquarie in HR round? Initially, before interviews started, I mentioned 27LPA (negotiable). I have a past offer (not current) of 25.5 LPA.

Q2 do they decline offering in case we get adamant abt high salary 27Lpa?
