AD1's desk, and desks across the agency worlds.
Get used to it. There will be late nights, sometimes weeks full of them. And there will be not late nights, you probably see some of your directors leaving at 6/7. You'll get there one day. Until then, build the plans, write the decks, rework the budgets. This is why vendors are so diligent about alcohol fueled engagements.
My best advise: nobody will die because your work falls short. Keep a level head, stay calm, and roll with the entry level punches. There's a lot to do, but it will get done.
I left the industry.
It’ll always be crazy at times. Just remember that we’re not saving lives, your work will (hopefully) always be there tomorrow, and it’s really common to feel like you’re barely holding on at times. Work really fucking hard and prove your worth, but make it a point to have a life outside of work and find balance. Work hard, play hard, and take advantage of all the media perks - otherwise, you’ll burn out way too fast.
Easier said than done, obviously
Your capacity of stress will increase as you get used to it. It’s fast paced and that doesn’t change. There will always be dozens of balls in the air that you juggle. Ask people are you how they manage their to do list and manage priorities. Whenever you hit a wall (it will happen often at first and continue to happen) talk to your supe. They’ve been there too and can’t help. We all have. Remember to take pride in your work, but realize it’s just a job. Balance is important

healthy and unhealthy stress relief tactics - i like both yoga and drinking
Find a work-life balance, don’t be afraid to say no, manage expectations and be realistic about how soon things can be delivered, lean on your coworkers for support, and try not to give too much of a fuck
Alcohol!
Talk to your supervisors. Ask for their sdvice
It's important to determine if its just a busy season, if it's a function of the account or your leadership. If it's the season, try to buckle down and work tho it. If it's the account, try to put in your time and ask for a rotation, and if it's leadership realize they are human with stressors of their own, but also make sure you put yourself in an environment to learn from someone you respect.
Also consider how you prioritize time during the work day when you are in a busy season. It may be hard to focus, but sometimes when i look back at my planner days there were moments where I could have got in a little earlier and focused more throughout the day (o hey insta!) and had more balance
You’re in media and you’re young so obviously free food, booze, concerts, sneakers and jeans ??
@the richards group...why tho?
@director1 i heard alcohol is a norm. Like in the whole advertising industry. Is it true that it is a small industry?
Ask for help and if you work with other SBU’s see if they can help you with to build parts of the proposals/post campaign shit. Also, punching bags :)
You’ll get used to it or you’ll figure out it’s not for you. Not everyone is cut out for this business.
At your level, staying organized, multitasking, your ability to properly prioritize, having a tough skin, seeing through to the positives and remaining curious are all critical attributes.
Alcohol and mood stabilizers, mostly. Good luck, OP.
