I got the advice when I was in the similar situation that there’s no point in wasting time in a role that you’re not getting anything out of. If you’re not learning and then it doesn’t make sense to just hang out in a shitty role so your resume looks good
In this industry? It is weird if you STAY at a job too long.
I think you’re good. I was at my first job 6 months, second job 2.5 years and it’s never been an issue. It’s super normal, and 2 years is a long time for our industry
For your first 3 years it should be okay or until you hit a supervisor role.
As I director, i am hesitant to hire people who hop around every one to two years
Earlier in your career it is OK, but I shy away from candidates that jump ship every 1-2 years as they mature. Usually a sign that they are no good and cannot get career traction anywhere, so they keep starting over or making horizontal changes. If it is a clear progression, that is different.
Could be, yes. It can take some digging to get through title inflation, but if someone is moving up rapidly with increasing responsibilities and results to show for it then that is different
@President so in your view if a person switches every 1-2 years, but for higher positions, that would considered acceptable?
