You should probably specify which market you are based in as it differs across the world.
A lot of freely available training resources are very basic, and more helpful things would need to be through a paid subscription by your company to something like Kantar or comScore. But if you’re in a network I’m sure they have a department trainings process and you could ask about getting the tv team to put something together?
Are you at one of the big agencies that has this capability or know someone who works at one of them ? I spent 5 years doing this after 5 years in digital - linear TV has its quirks. You learn the basics very quickly and then there’s a crapload is nuance. Unlike day digital or even OTT - most of the people who do this have been doing it FOREVER. [and it hasn’t changed that much in the last 10 years]
It starts with what’s the campaign objective and/or how is it being measured ? Lead gen or awareness ? Up fronts ? Guaranteed clearance ? Bought to an audience ? 🤯 Spot/which markets ? Network ? Cable ? Daypart mix ? What lengths ?
