Not Innocean.
Hahah we've def hired a good bit of interns and they do get to do real work, but other shops will prob get you more creative stuff.
Fwiw I’ve heard McKinney is a great place to work
Rising Star
So, LA?
I’d aim for a creative shop. 72, gut, maybe even Deutsch, Chiat or Mal. The rest are one account shops essentially. (Outside GS, but… eh)
If you had to pick from only that list, I’d say GS for the chance work on multiple things, or Saatchi because out of those car agencies they have their shit together the most.
I’ve only worked at one of these, but Giant Spoon probably does the coolest work of the bunch. Granted, every agency depends on the account.
My first job in advertising was at Saatchi; 3-4 people in the entry level pool were interns from the summer before.
I personally don’t recommend staying there for more than 2.5 years unless you really like your team, which unfortunately, isn’t common in the agency space lol
Probably BBDO West or Saatchi.
The name on the door is less important than your direct boss, team and clients you’ll be on - go to the place where you think you’ll be able to make the best work
Go to GS. I interned there. It transitioned to a junior position, helped me get my start in the industry. Learned a lot.
Didn’t get GS sadly but thats helpful to know for others for sure
David & Goliath
That’s a lie. Avoid at all cost.
How is innocean still around
Whichever you feel the most chemistry with. As a junior, you want the place that will advocate for you and put portfolio building opportunities in front of you. People from mediocre agencies who supported them have beat out people from top tiers agencies that left them floundering because of their books.
Avoid Giant Spoon for sure
If you’re a woman I’d avoid D&G based on stories I’ve heard
Avoid, at all costs. It’s a crappy place. David Angelo and Ben Purcell need to go ASAP. Especially, that HR lady.
