Expecting to be called MAGA but just adding a few thoughts anyway.
Unfortunately it is very hard to distinguish between what is a real investigation and what is a political tactic that will be launched and concluded to no effect other than getting news reel. An investigation in itself is no indication of guilt and is often used as a pressure tactic by AG’s and both political parties to achieve their ambitions.
To make it clear — I am not saying that is is a witch hunt but I am also not saying that Trump is guilty in this specific case.
State AG is not exactly a non partisan figure and is often part of the political machinations of the state and (in the case of a large and economically powerful state like NY) the country.
Just keep that in mind while reading all the posts about investigations and counter investigations.
Agreed, investigation is required into any and all wrongs. AG’s to be partisan is just a way of life, can’t do anything about it.
Some additional info on the case. I have no opinion on the below:
This particular investigation is based on a 2019 testimony to congress by Michael Cohen and is a broad tax evasion and financial mis representation case on the trump organisation on all their companies properties (not personal). AG has not made any primary determination of guilt.
The current filing includes documents which are heavily redacted and are under seal and the investigation will also be under seal.
The primary objective is to force Eric Trump to testify since he has refused to comply with requests for information in the past(last month) using attorney-client privilege.
The court is yet to make a ruling on whether Eric Trump should testify or if privilege is in place.

Seems like the best way to get to the bottom of it is to review all the financial records. If there’s nothing there, then case closed.
