Didn't end up making the cut in Strategy consulting case interviews. Would really like to do strategy / S&O some day. I love using data to inform decision-making.

Wondering if it would make sense to continue consulting in implementation then try to pivot again in the future or at another level - or drop consulting & try to get a strategy job at a startup or maybe do something else at a larger company and try to pivot internally.

Specialist roles aside, such as digital, when you see someone describing themselves as a “generalist marketer” is this a resume you’d pass on? How necessary is an extracurricular for MBA apps? I work a ton of hours and don’t have a lot of time or interest in any activity that I could reasonably put on an app. I spend the little free time I have on activities I enjoy (spending time with SO and friends, working out, Netflix, etc). Would it be really bad if I had nothing in that section on my app beyond college extracurriculars? Or should I force some activity? I have enough time before I apply to make it look legit to adcoms.
