They are based on the 1st one uses them. At least that’s what I remember. The clock starts once you tap it on the bus or rail.
The day passes probably save a little bit of money if you think you’re going to be on like 3+ trains in a day, but in general the easiest way to take the CTA (train and bus) is to just tap your credit card. You’ll save time and hassle and it’s still only like $2.75 per ride
When I tap my credit card, it says insufficient funds. I have been so confused.
