How do you decide how much notice to give when you're leaving a firm to go to a competitor? I know that no matter how much notice I give, they'll walk me out the day I give it. I don't want to be in limbo for 2-4 weeks while my licenses are still held by the former firm before I can start at the new one. But I also don't want to burn a bridge by resigning effective immediately. Would appreciate some insight from other W2 advisors who have moved firms before.

How does first year performance bonus work at McKinsey? Is it a set amount or a % of salary? Is it the same for experienced hires as MBA hires? Can this be negotiated? How much can one expect if you start in July or August?

Summer intern at BCG. I've been told by a few people that you need to spend your first few cases "earning your stripes" to gain staffing optionality or be servile/loyal to a pyramid to gain access to the cooler case work within that PA. It's seemed particularly emphasized at times.
