I’m about to take a data analytics course to make an attempt to break into that field. I’m currently looking for a mentor to help guide me during this time. I dated someone 15 years older than me and he always lectured me about what did I do wrong. From small things like where to squeeze ketchup on my plate to big things like how to live my life and pivot to a career that his “friends” do so well in right now. Almost everything I did or said he’d follow with some criticism. I ghosted him after another lunch date full of such lectures.

There’s no worst feeling that to be rejected by someone you love. I gave my heart and time to someone I thought felt the same towards me for more than a year. They decided to end the relationship cause they didn’t feel the same, and even though I appreciate the honesty, it hurts a lot!

I grew up in a nuclear family away from extended relatives who were never really close. Parents were either emotionally unavailable or distant. All I've wanted for myself was a big loving family to call my own.. my parents are unaccepting of my sexuality & my partners family is also quite fucked up so she's isn't super close to them either.
