My SO works from home a lot and has occasional travel. When we are both gone at the same time, the Grand Poobah of dogs goes to doggie daycare where he makes himself appear pathetic to receive lavish attention and numerous walks from the college girls working there. He works magic obtaining more treats and walks than he likely needs/deserves. 😆😆
Try Rover. My husband is a sitter with Rover and we have doggie guests that stay with us all the time. They get a family/home environment while you are away
my Vet has a boarding facility - they concede her walks are a little shorter there, but at 16 years old, I’m more concerned with her getting her meds and making sure she’s safe [and she doesn’t need that much exercise!]. they also always have capacity during the week [they fill on weekends sometimes] so they can cover a last minute work trip if necessary.
My dogs are boarded at a luxury dog hotel where they spend most of the day in daycare. I used to have people come by the house but one of my dogs was never getting enough exercise with that and started getting destructive. Daycare uses up all his energy.
I have someone come 2x a day. Mine are both old though so exercise isn't critical. If they needed extensive exercise, I'd probably board them somewhere that had a daycare like setting during the day.
This dog could be an SPCA poster-dog when he turns on the woe-is-me look. 😂😂😂
I have a sitter who keeps my senior dog in her home. Sitter also does pickups and drop offs, has my dog over for daycare if I’m working in town and have a long day. When dog
was a puppy and young adult I would put her in a very good kennel that offered daycare + boarding. Dog LOVES going to the sitter’s house - it’s like her second home. This sitter is a senior lady who does dog care for extra cash money; previous one too until she passed away. It is a win-win. Suggest you ask around, likely you can find a similar situation. Good luck!
