Millennials are like 45.
26 year old millennial here
Good for them. The generations before have unnecessarily killed themselves. It was one thing when a single-become parent was doing it but since we moved to both parents working stressful careers it has absolutely destroyed society and work life balance.
What’s the point of automation and technology and progress if we work longer days than our ancestors? Trading hard labor for carpal tunnel, cancer, and back issues isn’t a win.
Read Liz Warren’s “Two Income Trap” (if you’re a right-winger, even Tucker Carlson thinks it’s a good book). We went from “a second income to live the good life” to “needing a second income for survival.” This was by design the entire time.
Oh, the struggle of working 9-5…

9-5? That sounds like the promise land 🧐
soft lives, quiet quitting, quiet firing… such gentle terms.
Where does one sign up for one of these soft lives?
oh no, wanting to improve working conditions. I hate that...
I don’t prefer soft anything. No.

Lol... "how dare they don't want to work non-stop making other people rich for 45 years and then drop dead"
9-5 and career don’t belong in the same sentence.
Depends on your IQ
I mean, is this bad? Some people don’t like the traditional 9-5 so they do something else.
Am I missing multiple paragraphs in the article where they complain about the consequences of not having a 9-5? If not, good for them for knowing what they value and choosing to live a life that prioritizes those values rather than a “socially acceptable” job that doesn’t.
thank god for lazy ppl in industry, they keep us in business 🥰
Have fun being poor.

Where are these 9-5 jobs that can buy a house?
