Rising Star
This comes up a lot, and I’d love if someone could explain how an agency would monetize an AI workforce.
I could see us having fewer bodies because AI makes us a bit faster. I could see brands cutting agencies out and just outsourcing Strat and creative to AI (though that seems foolish and risky)
But most of what we do is deal with people, make changes and be present. AI can’t do that. And even if it could, an agency can’t bill as much as they bill your time to say “we’re going to have Sora do this work” because clients would just cut them out.
Rising Star
Not even an optimist, I think agencies will squeeze us out the minute they can. I just don’t think they can figure out a way to do it. So they’ve pivoted to “we use AI for our comps and insights” so their approach seems less old fashioned and THEY don’t get replaced by AI

The figure you’re after is what % has been replaced by the fear of AI

None. AI is going to take the agency. No one above my boss knows how to use it other than to ask it to generate pictures
Ask Publicis.
That is all.
I think AI can take my job.
Forrester is forecasting 15% of agency jobs will disappear next year
In what roles
They will just sell more options (Ai slop) at a faster pace. Remember the days when you can only do 1 option cause technology wasn’t capable to provide iterations as quickly?
As tech advanced so did the options we had to show. Faster tech means they can just show more slop

The only thing that can stop AI from taking jobs is political regulation. And regardless of party - you can’t collect taxes from a robot. So there is still some hope there?
