okay what’s going on - In the past 2 weeks I’ve had 2 jobs I was interviewing put on hold for hiring freezes.

I’m on the high side of the BMI scale and really want to prioritize healthy movement. Not ready to formally go back to the gym or do fitness group classes inside (both from a covid mentality and feeling uncomfortable due to size). Started walking more and incorporating some cardio videos, thinking of getting a machine for my apartment (bike, elliptical, etc.)…any recommendations of best machine to incorporate or additional fitness ideas?

We flew back from Ireland today on Delta. Our connecting flight from JFK at 6:10 was cancelled while we were flying over the Atlantic Ocean, and we were rebooked on a 3:40 instead (2.5 hours earlier) but not notified. I received no email, text or app notification of the flight cancellation or the new flight we were placed on, so we missed it. They now cannot get us home tonight and won’t even guarantee they can get us home tomorrow, impacting my work, (cont)…

For those of you who made the switch to in house/corporate law, what was your experience like? Did you have to take a lower position to gain the experience or were you able to argue that your soft skills were transferable to in house? I’ve been in litigation for 15 years and I’m looking to make the switch. Ultimately, I’d like to get into Legal Ops, but feel getting some in house experience first would be beneficial.

I was hopeful and excited to have a better working experience while working with EY. But seems like tagline is building better working world in real it is building worse working world. Anyone here experiencing same ?

A couple months back, I had an offer for a BDR position that I ended up turning down but I really liked and connected with the manager. Is it worth it to reach out? I applied to other positions in the same company. What about reaching out to previous co workers at a different company? Not sure how to navigate this… please help. I’ve been lay off this afternoon because low performance, it just two weeks ago I talked to my manager and told her that she’s micromanaging me a lot and I need more autonomy at my work. I didn’t like what they’ve done to me specially I’ve been redundant from the previous role before joining this company. I cannot sleep please any plan’ action and what to answer for the reason why you leave your company? I’ve been in 3 jobs for the last 2 years.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Any advice on networking to find a new role? I've worked in the same place for so long and I'm not sure how to get started.

The severance package at Meta for laid off employees almost makes it nice to be laid off depending on what your personal situation is….. personally wouldn’t mind getting 4+ months of full pay to reset and think about what’s next 😬

Was laid off in Sept. Unfortunately we will be seeing many more coming. It's what happens in a recession. Unfortunately I now also have my age against me. Not in a mentally good place at the moment.
