On night shift, everything feels a little surreal. I’ve checked in tired travelers at 1 a.m. and wished them ‘good morning’ without thinking. How do you stay sharp when the hours blur together?

Lots and lots of coffee. It's always needed for those long nights.

Play a little music during my shift if I can, keeps me alert. Have a chat with someone every now and again, human interaction helps

Maybe you need to get on a better sleep schedule. Stay active, eat healthy music always works as well.

Man do I not miss working nights. That blurring feeling is all too real. It's like time stops having any meaning. I'd drink as much coffee as I could and would still feel like nodding off halfway through the shift.

I bet it makes them giggle every single time. Coffee helps, and trying to keep to a regular schedule, but I never expect myself to be as alert during nights as I am during the day.

What value do TPMs provide? In my company all they seem to do is tell other people to work on things they’re already working on, and incessantly nag people on slack for status updates and timelines which you’ve already provided.
