One day, in the middle of a snowstorm, a guy strolled into the store wearing shorts and flip-flops. He said he was “just popping in for milk” but ended up chatting with me at the register for a good 20 minutes about how Canadians are just built different. I just stood there, trying not to laugh, thinking “only in this weather would someone do that.”
You never really forget moments like that.

That's awesome lol. I live in Florida where anything below 70 degrees feels like a snowstorm. I remember walking the beach once when it was in the low 50s and someone was swimming at the beach. It was probably that guy 🤣

funny

I totally get that! I used to think 50s were freezing until i saw this. Had me questioning everything 😂

This reminds me of my girlfriend's neighbor in Minnesota. There was a nasty snowstorm when I was there, and once it passed, I put on my boots, jacket and gloves to go shovel off the sidewalk. Only to see this 6'5" mountain of a guy snowblowing his section in shorts, a t-shirt and slippers. "Built different" indeed 😂

funny

That’s such a Midwest thing! I’ve seen people out shoveling like that too no coat, just pure determination

IIt brings back a memory of seeing some women walk into the store wearing just tank tops in the middle of January, when it was -20 degrees outside. I couldn’t help but wonder… how is that even possible?

like

Yes! I’ve seen that too and I just stand there in full winter gear like how are you not freezing?!

I go out walking for fun in -30C 😂 Sorry, I have no idea what that is in freedom units. I used to live in an area of England that rarely got snow. They ended up getting hit with a freak snowstorm (about 3" of snow) which completely shut the city down. I, all excited about the snow, walked into the city center for some starbucks. Only two employees had made it in. One person who lived across the street, and the other was a fellow Canadian 😂

funny

Haha that’s such a Canadian move! And You’re built different too 😄

Litigators—how many different cases are you on?

Been feeling spread too thin lately but I don’t know whats typical. Curious what others do. And would you mind sharing whether you’re a junior, midlevel, partner, etc??

I realize sheer number of cases doesn’t tell the whole story… obviously you can be buried on one massive case. I’m finding it hard to jump back and forth between everything I have going on right now, though, but I don’t know if the answer is to just deal with it.

any suggestions for a clinical specialist of 7 years of exp in acute care to increase salary? or How should one have this discussion with ones director?

Need some advice. Currently 32 YO with $23.7k in student loans, $60k in retirement, and $54k in cash. Want to pay off loans by end of year, max out 401k, and save for a house. Does it make sense to use $10k from pension to pay down loans and the rest from cash? How much should I have in my 401k by this point?
