One person I work with, not on my team but is involved with some of my projects constantly undermines me and is incredibly rude to the point when I see them on calls I get stressed because I know its going to be a meeting where I get called out or aggressively spoken to. They go out of their way to leave me out of meetings, etc.
I feel like if I escalate to my manager I am “being a nuisance” but I also dont appreciate this attitude towards me. Should i escalate? Idk why they treat me like this

To be clear person is not my manager, just happens to be someone who supports projects I work on. They have 15 more yrs of experience than me, but i think theyre only one position higher (hard to say their title doesnt really align to our standards).

Have you talked to them about it and addressed the situation head on? I know it can be scary, but stick to the facts, try to keep subjectivity out of it and ask them straight up what they have against you. Is there something you are doing that is bothering them or affecting their ability to do their job? Is there something in your process you can adjust to work better together?

Make it clear you don't appreciate being spoken to that way and expect to be respected the same as anyone else on the project.

If they don't have a reasonable explanation it's likely prejudice, and incompetent leadership. See if they make any efforts to change once you've spoken to them about it and if they don't, flag it up the chain. That is not fair or appropriate.

Amex folks,
Do you use your amex laptop for your personal work? Accessing gmail, social media, OTT platforms, etc.

I’m trying to figure out what I’m worth. I’m a director / editor who works directly in-house at an agency. I’ve directed several (roughly one a month) broadcast spots in the last year for a national fast food client and I’ve also edited those spots among editing other random national spots in-between. The production budgets range from roughly 200k-500k per shoot depending on how many days it is. I get paid 75k yearly which is feeling pretty low when I do the math. Is that fair?

Curious to know what you've seen as working to non working dollars split in Canadian agencies. Reference any specific brands (or categories) if you can. I'm used to seeing the conventional 15-20% split for non working (production dollars only, not including media budget, agency fees) but are those days gone now with the takeover of digital (vs traditional) ad placements?

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

Toronto banks: remote or not? They sometimes post jobs where it doesn’t say it’s remote, but no branch/ location/address either. So, if you work at TD, Scotia, RBC, could you let everybody know in the comments what’s the deal for each? Are you remote, on-site, hybrid of some sort?
