Who here has successfully built a side hustle or startup? Who here is successfully creating additional income? Does anyone have resources [books, podcasts, anything] that have helped them?

I sell stuff sometimes on FB market place and it was enough to report for taxes this year. Literally just list my neighbors trash right off their front lawns before trash day. I suggest the try it for a month and if it is profitable keep going method....

I started as a VA years back when I was backpacking in between jobs. My original plan was to switch to a UX designer. But through the VA business just managing emails and calendars. I realized people needed Process/Workflow consulting for their small businesses (industrial engineering expertise). So I do just that - audit, consult, and setup systems for the back end of people’s businesses. And I make enough to pay my rent and a bit more with just me. Currently working to build a team to be able to take on more than one client with out completely draining myself with my full time job now.

Resources join Facebook groups, make a list of everything you know how to do, and just start offering those services, make a fb post saying you are offering x services (make sure to say you are not an MLM) then see what sticks and be streamlined. Perfect the service with then grow it. Hope that helps! Also do not buy courses that cost over $100 bucks lol

Virtual Savvy’s is the best group. It’s not easy but depends if you are looking for a side job or want to start a side business? Side gig, sounds like you just want a job?

I built a website, legalized them business and then let everyone know that I knew and began networking. I don’t apply in those groups I mainly networked with professional orgs.

If you are completely lost then the virtual savvy does have a course that I think can walk you though it. I’m pretty resourceful so I figured it out by asking questions in the group.

I started on fiverr, may 2020, now income from freelancing has gone up than what I have from a salary.

what type of work do you usually take on fiverr

I would consider myself a full-time side hustler with a full-time job (recent development) as back-up income. I do anything from EA/VA work to customer service to writing/editing and more. Experimented with other services as well such as social media/marketing before I realized I’d prefer to be an admin professional. I listen to a lot of podcasts but my favorite is ChooseFi.

Thanks, if I had to constantly look for clients and sell myself, I wouldn’t be a freelancer! Again, I’ve realized I hate marketing lol

Depends on what the side gig is? I may able to help you if you say more..

It would really depend on the side hustle you are looking at. There is no lack of educational materials available. I skipped the side hustle myself and just jumped into something new a year ago and am thrilled with my life now.
