To have holidays and summers off! But even before that, I just loved working with kids. Obviously it isn’t without challenges but helping and making a difference is such a good feeling. Hard to remember some days, but when a kid says thanks for something, it makes it all worth it.
There is great power in the knowledge that you are doing something that directly impacts the lives of these children.
I became one to have summers off with my kids. Also for a paycheck. That is my why.
I could earn a pay check anywhere, so the money isn't it for me... BUT the summers and holidays off with my children is for sure a major part of it.
Every time I get asked this it is difficult to answer. Teaching is a calling by God for me. Every move I have made in my career was through Him. I have tried numerous times to leave but I can’t. My work as a teacher is not done.
I am right there, I originally applied to be a receptionist and instead I was placed as a teacher's assistant. From there every promotion has been handed to me without even applying or asking. I am trusting him in this journey and I have been so blessed, even though it is the hardest thing I have ever done!
Honestly I had a really great teacher in 5th grade who I will never forget because so much of my life was shaped by her. She is the reason I wanted to bea teacher because she had such an impact on me.
