End-to-end about two months, provided you have the assistance of a nice lawyer. The issue is always that applicants are often already in situ here in the U.S (as I was, on an L1). To get my 01 I had to go home to the U.K, have my interview at the U.S Embassy in London, then hang around for maybe 5 or 6 days as it was approved etc.
There is a way around it i am told given you already have O1. You need to submit another deal memo to USCIS from the company hiring you and then they can claim ownership. Maybe talk to your lawyer.
2 months or so?
OP - if you're planning on staying and are eligible, I'd just bite the bullet and get your Green Card - particularly in the current political climate.
Applying for this is a barrel of laughs as well, because you'll have to go home again, but this time for a rather comprehensive medical and then an equally comprehensive interview at the embassy (- all after having every vaccination under the sun before you leave the U.S!). The wait in London is longer, so I was hanging around for 8-9 days before I could come back to the States,
But all of that said, when you've got it, you've got it...
What did it take in your book to convince your company to sponsor? Big awards/ press?
