Physicians - how much of your week do you spend doing paper work and reviewing labs? I feel like it's taking over my schedule.

What is your area of practice? Do you think if you had a pharmacist that could review your files and add recommendations would be helpful. How much would you be willing to pay for that? I am working on getting my consulting license and hoping to work as a contract with MD offices maybe through CPA and take a lot of this pressure off. Just curious on a physicians thoughts.

Waaaay too much. Sometimes I feel like I'm just treading water.

Easily a solid 20 hours a week. I understand why but its lowkey ridiculous and draining. Everyday I just add to the pile and try to get as much done as possible, and everyday the pile is the same size if not bigger.

I see you all. Been on my mind whether some items can be delegated but it seems the demand seeks personal review and attention. I'm still hoping there'd be changes that'll help y'all though.

Coming to accept I'll never be able to keep up the pace in paperwork. Sometimes it's just too much.

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. Now HR is restarting my ET as a new employee. I realize I left, but not on bad terms and I am an exemplar and respected employee. I thought I’d have the upper hand with the nursing shortage but I’m getting the “rules are rules” response. Help!?!

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!
