Just use Seaborn instead.
Plotly!!
Yesssss I love plotly
It's because there's a lot of existing code that can be leveraged
Seaborne is popular because matplotlib is so bad. Seaborne is built off of it, has better visuals and is easier to use
I'd say it has a lot to do with what types of tasks you're working on. If you are doing ad hoc data analysis that need visualization or working on time series data or any sort of decision science work R is easy to use.
If you are working on developing models you need to serve in a production environment and need to consider the MLOps around maintenance of that model then Python is just more mature for those needs.
If you're in the later and need to play around in the space of the former you will likely just stick to python. Or if you have ambitions to work in the later you'll be hesitant to move to R.
I feel your pain!
Team plotly
It’s one of the most wildly use libraries on YouTube, GitHub, and exercise content. Plus it was a standard a few years ago because it was the baseline package for data analysis, so people tend not to change what they don’t know.
In my opinion neither seaborn nor plotly is yet on par with R’s tidyverse + ggplot.
That being said, Plotly is very fast catching up, but is that purely because it’s a private company focused on developing it?
Agree with previous comments about usefulness of a lingua franca between data scientists, engineers and devs. P
I don't know why people wag their tails at python, I love R and use it for most of the things.
Mentor
Sure, I usually don’t have a problem with any language but have to respond when R users try to paint a picture of superiority. Each one has their advantage and painting a yes/no decision universally only says about their knowledge.
Seems like the root problem is you left R.
