Question: If a job lists a salary range of 100k–120k but my expected salary is lower (around 90k), should I enter my desired salary or stay within the employer’s range? Does listing a lower number improve my chances, or does it risk undervaluing myself and reducing my potential offer?

I started QA at the company I am currently at 3 years ago. Long story short, within 4 months at the company, I was able to make a career change and step into a PM position. Without having the formal education or PM experience, only my 5 years in QA experience. When I started I made $65k and have jumped to $78k. I have seen other companies post $100k+. Annual review is tomorrow. Should I fight for more or look for more somewhere else if I lose that fight?
