Recently, I’ve noticed a recurring pattern during my job search: after the interview and salary discussion, the conversation suddenly shifts to demanding an immediate start within a few days —as if candidates have no responsibilities or personal lives to arrange.

What’s even more unprofessional is when a company gives a start date, asks you to adjust your plans, and then disappears without a single update.

Researching the job mkt & pay for nursing: It is so easy to set up a first interview esp. as a nurse. Set up a zoom meeting, in the zoom meeting ask abt job details and ask for the salary range. They will give it to you, and in my case it was the same range for both of the companies. (Hospice oncall nurse here👋). Then you fit in somewhere on that continuum based on education & experience—that where the negotiation comes in—they will make a case to place you as low as possible on the scale.
