That’s a bold move in this market! I did the same a few years ago but not sure I could. What drove the decision? I joined Never Search Alone and found that helpful. Don’t discount cold applications (I’ve gotten all my jobs this way) and skill build with AI tools so you have an answer for when they inevitably ask how you’re using AI. Also make sure you’re clear on what you want/don’t want. I just landed somewhere recently and wish I had held out for a better fit.
Many factors, but honestly the one that pushed me over the edge was simply “because I can”. Thanks for your advice! Will definitely look into Never Search Alone - I’ve heard it mentioned before
Your network is going to be your best avenue to your next role. Blind applications are basically worthless. Let as many people know that you’re looking, and find people who are connected to open roles or hiring managers that you are looking to pursue. Unless your name gets brought up, it’s likely that your resume will even get eyes on it in this current market.
All my job apps that I got interviews for were blind applications 🤷🏻♀️ I even just got a job w Deloitte w a blind application
I wish you the best of luck, but I would’ve just quiet quit versus outright quitting. This job market is tough. Not to freak you out, but I’ve seen people looking for roles for the past two years and they can’t find anything.
