New AW are probably coming out in a little over a month if you want to hold off.

If not, I’d go with 40mm GPS only, sport loop. Then grab a silicone band for cheap to use for exercise.

I would wait but Chase is having a deal right now until EOM where I could buy an Apple product using points that are valued higher than usual..not sure if I should just go for the 5 or wait for the 6 but end up paying more now

If you are truly active and outdoorsy, i recommend Garmin or Suunto.

I used to own a Garmin. Great watch but it would be nice to leave my phone behind a n long distance runs but still be able to make a call or a text if needed by using my watch

If you don’t love any of the band designs, get the cheapest one in the metal color you want and it’s super easy to find fashionable bands online. I never use the Apple band. For your active lifestyle, there’s a company called Nyloon that makes cool bands that are NATO-style nylon bands. They fit great, come in cool patterns, and are machine washable (just toss it in a sock to protect the metal bits).

I have a metal band from Epic Watch Bands that I wear the rest of the time. They have a pretty wide selection of bands too.

Also, if cost is a factor, the series 4 is basically the same only it doesn’t have an “always on” face option and doesn’t have a compass. You can save like $50 if you can find a place that still has one lying around. I was able to get mine at Best Buy last fall after the 5 was released. That being said, the 5 price could drop if you wait until the 6 to be announced, likely in a month or so.

Team just applied for a TS Clearance (defense agency). Trying to assess if it makes sense to wait till the clearance comes through (6 months to a year?) before I job hop. I'm hoping to get some clarity on the following:
1. Can my company withdraw or cancel my clearance if I leave right after I secure a TS?
2. In terms of compensation, how much value (% compensation) does a TS clearance have in the DC area? Places I'm considering: AWS, Azure, GCP, Data bricks, Appian etc.
Any advice, thanks!

One of the primary aims of the criminal justice reform movement is to help ex-convicts re-enter the workforce by sealing criminal records, and making it more difficult for employers to judge applicants based on criminal history. The idea is that people are redeemable and capable of reform. Yet the same movement thoroughly enjoys getting people fired and publicly shaming them for making arguments they find “offensive”. A rapist is capable of reform, but not someone who makes a dumb tweet. Got it.

Has anybody else experienced (what seems like) irreversible physical damage from working long hours? I worked about a month of 19 hour days 2 years ago (this was the peak of the season where I worked at least 12 hours a day) and my facial skin hasn't really recovered and the experience really aged me.

I am not sure who needs to hear this but exactly one year ago, I was at my lowest point in life. Today, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. Life has truly been a rollercoaster these past few years for me.

I am sharing this to tell you that no matter what you’re feeling right now, it won’t last. Even the happiness I feel right now, I’ve had that stripped from me multiple times. That is LIFE. We have the good and the bad.

Hang in there if times are bad. If things are good, prepare to lose it too.

Looking for a home office chair…I need something really ergonomic/comfortable but given the visibility of the office in the house the wife wants something stylish. She keeps calling all my ideas ‘gamer chairs’ even though they’re definitely not. Anyone have any chairs they really like that may be worth looking at? I feel like I’ve looked everywhere (Steelcase, Herman Miller, humanscale, Haworth, xchair, etc).

Living in my parents house, which NEEDS a makeover. What do you guys do to make your house look cozier? My parents house is tiny, low ceiling, and no seperate on between kitchen and the living room. It literally looks like a grandma house.

Should I just use catalogs? Or should I hire an interior designer? Do you have any tips? My biggest issue is that it looks disorganized no matter what because there’s no distinction between when the kitchen ends and when the living room starts

Spent the pandemic working on myself, got sober, focused on working out, left the music industry and started a career where I can make money and have a steady work schedule. Maybe this isn’t everyone’s version of “growing up” but that’s what this was for me. Now that I’m vaxed and seeing my friends, it’s clear we have little left in common, and honestly a lot of the things they do straight up embarrasses me. I don’t want to lose these long term friends. Has anyone else been in this situation?

It’s interesting to see several articles and surveys emerging saying the initial bump in productivity from mass remote working has started to come down or even go negative as the novelty wears off and people start to get worn down from longer hours, the stresses of having kids at home full time, burn out from increased workloads, stress from the pandemic, etc. Curious to here people’s thoughts, do you think you’re less productive now than back around the April timeframe?

Let's say through a combination of aggressive saving, high income, and savvy investments, I manage to save several million by the time I'm 40.

If at that time I decided to pursue my passion and go to law school so that I can be an affordable attorney for worthy causes, will my age hold me back from getting into law school?
