Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

There are a few things. When a number is agreed on, but then they ask for something else, especially with no further justification or explanation. Way above the salary band that was described, again with no explanation. Mainly if you are going to ask for more, give me some kind of reason at minimum.
I think only if someone is being totally unreasonable or aggressive with their negotiation have I ever seen them totally lose the role. Often enough people will walk away from a role if the negotiation goes sour. But I rarely see employers revoke a role if negotiations are happening in good faith
I've known it to happen, offers do get rescinded now and then because of someone's negotiation gone wrong. Sometimes an offer is accepted, and the person then comes back wanting more money or some other ask. If it's something really minor it may not matter, but if they're asking for money after the offer was accepted that's really a bad faith situation. And the more you think about it, the more it indicates flaws in the person's judgment.
