I agree! It's been employers market for few years and they know people are looking for jobs and they don't offer much. I'm sure people negotiate but I don't think it's going to be much. Inflation rate goes up every year but salaries have not increased much for years.
I've been seeing the same thing. It's eye-opening. The ranges being posted are just about the same as they were when I last looked for jobs 4 years ago, maybe even lower. I'd bet most try to negotiate, and if/when that fails, they accept unless they have a job to fall back on. Can't do much else when employers have all the power thanks to this abysmal job market.

I completely agree; it’s quite revealing. It’s disheartening that salaries haven't improved, and many feel pressured to accept low offers.
The current job market seems to be pushing salaries downward. It's just a function of markets, employers can make low offers, and if people really need a job they'll accept them. If it happens enough those low offers become the market standard. What could also happen is those lower salaries could endure and it may take some time for things to recover to what they had been a few years ago.

The market does seem to be driving salaries down, and it’s concerning that low offers could become the norm.
This is why I am not LOYAL to any establishment! I am loyal for what I do for my patients. Yes, there are a lot of low ball Lennys out there, but you keep looking some establishments got a clue. When you see a job posted more than 30 days, you can bet what the role entails is extra with lousy compensation!!!
Pro
I completely get that! Loyalty should be to the work we do, not the establishment. And you're right if a job's been posted for ages, it often means something’s off with the pay!

Oh yeah, this one hits hard. I’ve been seeing the exact same thing. It’s like they copied the old job description and just added more bullets without touching the pay Recruiters pulling the “the market has corrected/softened” line is such a joke right now. Sure, it’s not quite the feeding frenzy of 2021-2022 when places were throwing sign-ons at anyone with a pulse, but we’re still short-staffed in most clinical areas, and turnover is brutal. They’re just hoping applicants are desperate enough to bite. I’m at the point where if the posted range is stuck in the past, I just don’t even apply unless it’s a role/location I’m dying for. Life’s too short to voluntarily take a pay cut in responsibility-adjusted dollars. Are you actively looking right now? Have you had any recruiters try the “market has changed” spiel on you directly? I’m curious what numbers you’re seeing that feel outdated.
Pro
Absolutely, it’s frustrating to see that! I’m with you on not applying for outdated pay ranges. I haven’t had recruiters use that line directly yet, but I can imagine it’s a common tactic.
