Hi All!
I am currently a Senior Software Engineer(Backend) with 4 YOE. My current CTC is 21LPA (All Fixed) with additional Yearly bonus. I got a call from Google (Pune/Bangalore/Remote) for Software Engineer - Backend. I have the following doubts but any insights are welcome -
1. Does the lower designation offered make any difference?
2. Kinda ambiguous, but what kind of hike or ballpark pay can I expect?
3. Any similar interviews experiences or focus areas I should prepare for?
How much hike % this year
Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

80-100 50-100% bonus
C1 is saying 80-100k base with 50-100% bonus target.
I just want to throw a data point at you as someone who left B4 for a high finance role in a non finance city. I would not be surprised if those numbers are lower based on the cities you threw out there. In my opinion this bowl skews heavy to SF/NYC comp. AND for the role your shooting for in my city the places know they can pay less because it’s a ton of kids who did time in NY (IB typically) who want to come home.
That said this role will create more opportunity for you long term than your path now - once again - in my humble opinion.
For an analyst in a LMM shop, probably looking at $100-120ish total comp? Associate would be probably closer to $160-200k
Hard to really say without knowing you or the firm but my advice would be to ignore the marginal pay difference at that level and really think about whether you want to give investing a shot. If you do, I’d give think about the culture / people, location, industry focus, etc like a normal job but give some credit for the option value of learning whether or not it’s something you want to do long term
