Hello, I'm looking at a position within Paypal. My question, what is the work life balance, expectation for office (hybrid/remote/other) and is the pay comparable to other companies? Reviewing Director and Senior Director roles on the business side. I have over 15 years experience with multiple degrees. TIA!

McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.
Leaving this here

Yup. Good rainy day…gaming with kitty

It's important to know the work environment at your company. My advice is to give 100 % at work, but never stop living and prioritizing things that are really valuable for you.
I agree!!
It’s important to work hard but it’s even more important to not prioritize work if you don’t have to. For example your hours may be 6-2:30. Between those hours that’s when you should prioritize work. But outside, make it clear that that is your time. Your time is valuable and if you feel like the over time isn’t the compensation you like or feel is deserved then don’t work it. Do what makes you happy because it will help prevent burnout
If your work allows it, that is, if you are not going to receive calls outside of work, make sure you respect your time, as soon as you leave work, do something else, read a book, have dinner, but do not apply the habit of thinking about work after you leave.
Right off the bat I will say that my experience isn't the same as most others', I have been out of the traditional 9-5 workplace for a long time. Freelance work (mainly consulting) is a feast-or-famine pursuit and you have to always be ready to jump in headfirst. So my work-life balance is kind of murky I guess? I think this is a better way to conceptualize it: can I be myself while working at this job? If yes, then awesome. If no, then it might be best to reconsider where you are working. Your personality should stay the same everywhere you go.
You have to set firm boundaries right from the get-go. Work time is work time and once you're home that's your time for yourself.
Definitely! I agree
Don't let the higher-ups pressure you into working more than what you think is appropriate or healthy for yourself. Of course, if overtime is compensated well there's no harm in doing some of that when is needed.
Good point. You rock! It’s important to have good work-life balance
In the scenario of joining a new company, struggle is inevitable, But that will be very much helpful in long run as you will learn to manage things smoothly and later you wont feel any stress while at work.
