Stop caring as much.
I used to care way too much, and I was a sad miserable person. Difficult to work with, took myself too seriously, and only cared about the work.
After losing someone close to me I realized I was wasting my life away. I decided to not care as much. Ironically, I started performing better at work. I got promoted, raises and started making decent work eventually. I started enjoying it, and I’m generally much happier than I was.
Maybe give it a shot. Just don’t care as much. It’s just ads.
I second this advice.
Remind yourself that it’s just an ad, nobody will remember or care about it in a month, and you should really look for creative fulfillment outside your job on personal projects and side hustles.
Or just keep telling yourself “we’ll get em next time” while you doomscroll LinkedIn reading humblebrags about winning at Cannes. Whatever works.
This ^ side projects and side things fixed my mental health
I love Professor Luke's advice about protecting the pyramid, which I will. Once. After that, I accept they're not paying me to care or to save them from their own bad decisions. They're paying me to produce.
Care Less — be more objective about work and your life.
I silently tell myself I'm smarter than them and they know nothing and then I just do as they say bc it's not problem they want to be dumb. Some comments are insane. They will literally plan a shoot in Seattle then ask creatives to change the actual weather from rain to sun. I once had a client asked me if I was writing for myself bc it felt too "18-30". Well the only stipulations of the target market they gave was age, which was 18-30. He was 50 and wanted me to write as if he's the only consumer. The frustrating thing is when their feedback is racist or sexist or homophobic and all the leaders above you just shrug and say "okay let's discriminate."
Get an MBA so you can push back on client feedback

You gotta laugh.
Remember that a lot of people in our field say useless, meaningless shit when they feel they aren’t super valuable or want to be involved in a conversation for more visibility.
I.e. people be sayin shit just to say shit.
I’m echoing what everyone else who has replied has said but one day you will get client feedback that is so bad that you will stop caring. It happened around my 8th year in on the 10th round of edit note’s. Sometimes you just gotta give ‘em what they think they want and be okay with that.
