So I work overnight and there has been another place close by where I live, I’ve asked my managers boss for a transfer within the first week of my work, nothing, then in a few weeks I’ve asked the manager for the transfer, but unfortunately the place close by already hired someone, then the next few months. Again, I’ve asked three more times, by the third time my manager ducked my questions and ignored it. Now I want to speak to HR but am afraid I’ll be fired for it.

That’s a tough spot to be in. Asking for a transfer multiple times is reasonable, and being ignored isn’t okay. Reaching out to HR shouldn’t get you fired—but I get why you’re cautious. You deserve clear answers and basic respect.

Voice your concerns without fear of termination. That’s literally illegal. Is definitely go to HR, otherwise the only other option you would have is to leave the place. I’d definitely leave on good standing to make the potential transfer a supported one. If they still don’t budge, I’d ask the supervisor if it’s ok if you reach out to the other location directly. You may have some luck there.

That's a lousy way to treat an employee. I suspect what's going on is that they don't want to deal with replacing you. It can be hard to find someone for overnight shifts, so once they have a good worker they don't want to let them go. The good news is that you're valued in the job, the bad news is that they might like you too much.

My company covers in depth results each week, including meetings set/attended, wins, revenue, retention etc. I feel as if evaluating in such depth is detrimental to the psyche, as you never get to “ride the high.” In addition, some weeks are simply slower than others, and it’s not always representative of what the results at the end of the period or quarter will be. Is this not a big deal, and I’m I placing too much importance on it? Or is it beneficial to review results less frequently?

What designation does UBS offer to a person with non technical profile with 11 years of experience?

Hi guys currently I'm working in a project with very stringent timelines. Sometimes we need to put more than 13-14 hrs each day. There are 4 members in my team. Two are involved in database prt and me and my lead are involved in the front end and middle layer prt. Somehow my lead is not at all pleased with my work. And even if I try to talk to him for something he is completely rude. Sometimes it makes me that I m completely useless. Even the other team members are following the lead
