So I’m at a work conference having a good time. Ive been checking my emails on my phone for any urgent requests. I got an email with scanned mail and I didn’t pay much attention to it until this morning. Well apparently today is the last day to submit evidence for an EDD appeal. I asked the client for docs and she’s pissed because i gave her one day notice to send me docs when we had 3 days. I feel like such an idiot cuz now everyone is on edge b/c of this deadline. Lesson learned. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.

2nd year assoc. here. Finding myself spending 3-5 hours researching/analyzing issues that should only take 1-3 hours. I find myself questioning - for every assignment - is this the issue I was asked to look into? Did I read that case right? Does this analysis make sense? And I end up reading the same cases over and over. Does anyone have advice for being more confident/efficient on tasks, especially research?
