Very respected firm in Delaware, the work they do is good. I find that all local Delaware firms have someone annoying cultures. Exit opps aren’t as good as if you’re at a national firm.
I can’t speak to 100% to RLF, I worked at a similar Delaware firm but it’s been a minute since I was there. Generally I think the vibe is a little more negative for corporate trans/lit than their national counterparts in wilmington, unless you’re one of the ones that has a good partnership shot. Comp is lower too.
People that left for national firms tend to be happier at their new role IME. If in house is a potential goal of yours, the RLF to (eg) WSGR goes far as far as name rec.
DE culture means New York hours without New York pay
Depends on the practice area. Are you already in Delaware or looking to move? Delaware firm culture can be quirky depending on the firm.
The people I’ve worked with the most from there are serious (not very outgoing or joke much) but nice and generally very knowledgeable, think stereotypical bookworms. They were all older closer to retirement so I’m not sure what the younger attorneys are like. I have had one rather off putting experience with someone from there but every firm has its own a**hat and don’t think they’re representative of the overall culture
Don’t work there but have often worked with them for DE matters and they’re very highly respected and most people I’ve come across are very nice and smart. Sometimes can get too in the weeds when we’re really just looking for an answer, but I think that just comes from expertise in a certain field.
Rising Star
Everyone’s go to firm (if they’re not being cheap) for DE matters. Well respected and smart. As others have mentioned, sometimes not the most practical.
